An opportunity of a lifetime

The opportunity to get to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge was one of those things I always wanted to do and several years ago I got my wish.

But right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to get this b

log up and running. For the past two months now I have been searching templates – reading other blogs – but now – I realize the only way is… “jump into the deep end”!

Therefore – for today – only a portion of my photo is showing – I will figure out how to size it properly some other time! And the story??? Well keep coming back 🙂 One of these days I will tell that wonderful story!

I'm writing again these days! Growing up, all I ever wanted to be was a photographer! I was the yearbook photographer in high school and college. While attending college I landed a part time job for the local weekly newspaper. If I covered the weekly city council meeting, which no one else wanted to do, I would get a front page story and a bi-line on the cover of the free bee advertiser that went out every Wednesday. I then scored a night desk position in the sports department of a big daily newspaper. I hated it! Now, 45 years later, I'd like to write about some of my many adventures. I hope you drop by once in a while and check me out!

  1. Neat picture from the top of the northern tower of the Golden Gate, Tom. I’ve driven across the GG many times; walked across it and once and saw it from the waterline, crewing on a friend’s catamaran as we sailed under it. The Golden Gate is spectacular regardless the perspective. The picture is stunning!

  2. Hey Tom, I’m blown away! I’m so proud of you! What a great blog! I’m looking forward to your great writing and photography on a regular basis from now on. And you were right, the best way to conquer WordPress is to jump in the deep end—not off the bridge of course:-) Can’t wait to read more!
